ADOR's new CEO who is gaslighting NewJeans + deleted CCTV footage from Hanni's ignoring incident - netizens are baffled

[theqoo - hot] [Exclusive] NewJeans Mothers Raise Suspicion of HYBE's CCTV Cover-up... "They said the 'ignore' footage towards Hanni was deleted" (Interview)

date: 07/10/2024

“Strangely enough, only the CCTV footage of Hanni greeting them remains, and the problematic ‘ignore’ footage that Hanni mentioned has been deleted.”

As NewJeans member Hanni was selected as a reference for the state audit on issues such as 'idol bullying and workplace harassment,' the mothers of NewJeans members expressed doubts and deep concerns about HYBE's poor investigation, including the concealment of CCTV footage.

On the 6th, the mothers of the NewJeans members gave an interview with Daily Sports and criticized ADOR CEO Kim Joo-young for saying that the CCTV footage related to Hanni's bullying had disappeared, asking, "How can you say that only the footage of Hanni greeting the other group members was left, while the footage containing the controversial 'ignoring' part was deleted?"

Previously, on the 11th of last month, Hanni revealed during a live emergency broadcast of NewJeans that while waiting in the hallway of the HYBE building, she greeted another artist she had encountered, and when she ran into the same artist again, the manager had told the members to "ignore" her, causing her to feel extremely shocked. In relation to this, the National Assembly Environment and Labor Committee selected Kim Joo-young, CEO of ADOR and Chief Human Resources Officer of HYBE, as a witness for the state audit due to the issue of "bullying within the company," and selected Hanni as a reference witness.

The mother of one NewJeans member explained, 'Initially, Hanni's mother brought up this issue to the other members' mothers around the end of May. She was very upset, saying she heard such things from her child and was wondering how something like this could happen. She expressed her concerns about the future.

“At that time, around May and June, the issues between HYBE and former CEO Min Hee-jin were at their peak. At that time, the entire ADOR board of directors had also changed. In particular, since it was an issue with another label, it was realistically difficult for former CEO Min to resolve the situation because he was isolated in the board of directors, but he was protesting fiercely. So I protested to HYBE’s HR Director and newly appointed ADOR Board Chairman Kim Joo-young and the new ADOR board of directors about the matter and asked them to prevent a recurrence. However, they just dragged their feet and in the end, they only found the CCTV footage with the main scenes of the issue deleted and said there was no evidence.”

The mother of the NewJeans member said, “It’s already been four months since the incident happened. We raised the issue in June, but there was no sign of a solution, and now they finally said they would check the CCTV. At first, I didn’t understand why they said they would check the CCTV, because your voice cannot be recorded on CCTV.” She added, “I thought it would be better to just meet with Hanni and interview the person in question, and why she was making things difficult and taking so long, but I told them to do so because they wanted to check the CCTV, but they eventually told me that there was no footage in question.”

The mother said, “There were more than one or two strange things. We raised this issue right after the incident. There is a record of it in the email. But we received an absurd response that CCTV footage is supposed to be deleted after 30 days. When we asked for it to be restored, we were told that it is technically difficult to restore deleted footage.”

She continued, “But absurdly, it’s not like there’s no footage from the day the incident happened. They only showed Hanni about an 8-second video of Hanni and the other artist members greeting each other, and then they said something absurd like, “The important part is when the artist and the manager come out, but all the footage from other times was deleted. Why would they only leave scenes that weren’t problematic? It’s not like they’re treating me like an idiot, it’s just unpleasant.”

Another mother of a NewJeans member lamented, “So when I asked why they only deleted that scene, they said they couldn’t figure out why because the person who deleted it was someone who had quit the company. The security team made excuses about the superior who gave the work instructions and confirmation, and the superior blamed the person who quit the company, saying that the person in charge quit. It was a mess.”

The mother of a NewJeans member said, “On the 23rd of last month, CEO Kim Joo-young of ADOR asked to meet with the NewJeans members alone, but I felt too uneasy to send my children alone, so the parents went with them as well,” and “I raised an objection to the issue again at that place.”

“When CEO Kim Joo-young said, ‘CCTV footage doesn’t have sound, so it might be difficult for the security team to specify something and they might not have left it,’ I said, ‘Even if there’s no sound, wouldn’t we be able to tell by looking at the atmosphere, gestures at the time, and the situation?’ Then I said, ‘Why don’t you let us view all the footage from that date?’ and they said that they had looked through a month’s worth of footage at the time. That answer was ridiculous, so I asked back, ‘If you had told me a specific date, why don’t we just look for that date? Why are we looking for other dates?’ I kept thinking that the answers they gave me were strange.

"So I asked for any documents regarding what exactly ADOR's board requested about this issue, but they said it might have been done over the phone and that it would be difficult to provide details. I pointed out that being a large company, they should have records of work requests, and it couldn't be that they didn't have any. Then, after the meeting, on September 25th, they sent me an email with the documents. However, when I looked at the contents, I was absolutely shocked.”

A NewJeans member's mother said, 'They showed us Slack messages with instructions, and the request process seemed odd. If this is an issue between subsidiary labels, shouldn’t HYBE maintain neutrality and conduct the investigation? Also, wouldn’t it make sense for a department or person responsible for workplace harassment to handle it? They’re a large company after all. However, they were looking for related materials from Belift Lab.'

She continued, 'ADOR should have directly requested the security team to find the CCTV or asked the department responsible for workplace harassment within HYBE. Why did the ADOR board request Belift Lab to look for it? This raised more suspicions. Furthermore, in the Slack messages between Belift Lab and the security team, there was a part where the security guard said, "I found a scene of them passing by and greeting each other," to which Belift Lab responded, "That's a relief." I don’t understand the intention behind showing that message, saying "That's a relief."

The member's mother lamented, "This is like asking the perpetrator to find evidence video. In the end, they said they deleted the scene that contained the 'ignoring' in question, and when I suggested they restore it through forensics, they said it couldn't be done due to technical issues. I wondered how I could believe this."

The member's mother explained the situation at the time, saying, "During the interview on the 23rd, Hanni told CEO Kim Joo-young, 'You said that only the victim can confirm the information, so on the day I visited the security team to check the CCTV, the security guards at the time couldn't make eye contact with me and even their hands were trembling."  In response, CEO Kim Joo-young responded to Hanni by saying, "Am I not looking straight at you?" I was so flustered hearing that."

Then, "CEO Kim Joo-young said to Hanni before, 'If something like this happened, you should have told us sooner. It's already been a month since the video was deleted,' but Hanni clearly told us sooner and we raised the issue right away. Still, when we received this response, I think Hanni thought, 'Does that mean I was wrong?' So the mothers expressed their anger, saying, 'How did Hanni know there was such a rule? And we raised the issue right after the incident, not a month later.'"

“During the meeting on the 23rd, CEO Kim Joo-young suddenly started crying in front of the NewJeans members while speaking. It was really surprising. I felt that showing such emotional behaviour, especially from a CEO who isn't close to the members and in a setting where we were discussing various damaging issues, might make the kids feel guilty. Moreover, we were discussing the harm we had experienced. In fact, one member even cried and said, 'Why are you making us the bad guys?' So the mothers said, ‘You are old enough to be going to school, but as a parent, we are sorry for making you go through this.”

Another mother of a NewJeans member said in bewilderment, “During the interview at the time, I raised the issue of videos of the NewJeans members from their trainee days being leaked on the Internet without permission. Two days later, I received a reply from CEO Kim Joo-young saying that (NewJeans) fans had filed a criminal complaint against the media outlet and Source Music, and that they could consider waiting for the results.”

“In the explanatory email that CEO Kim Joo-young sent to us, it was written that the members of NewJeans could file a civil suit against the media outlet for infringement of their portrait rights, but that there was also the possibility that going through such a process against the media outlet could be perceived negatively, and that if we could not secure objective evidence regarding the leak, our chances of success would not be high. It was also written that ADOR sent an official document to Source Music and the media outlet in August, but that there was no response.

Since there is no criminal punishment provision for infringement of portrait rights and since there is a possibility that it could be exploited if Source Music is found not guilty even if they sue, it was written that we could consider waiting for the results since fans have sued the media outlet and Source Music. I don’t understand what they mean by saying that since the fans have sued them since there is no criminal punishment provision, we should wait for the results. And yet, considering all of this, if they want to proceed with the lawsuit, ADOR is saying that they will provide the resources necessary for the NewJeans members to proceed with the lawsuit. I don’t understand what kind of incoherent wordplay this is.”

  • It’s hard to believe that all this unnecessary heartache is caused by one person when the parents have raised such precious kids. Why is that CEO crying so much? If she feels like the position doesn’t suit her, then she should step down. Seriously, who’s playing the emotional card here? Min Hee-jin claims to be rational while showing no rational behaviour at all.
  • What they do is so petty and dirty
  • Do they really want to live so vilely...? What are these labels including HYBE doing to these kids?
  • The parents must have been so upset and frustratedㅠㅠㅠ But why is that CEO making such a big scene and crying during the meeting with the kids? Please stop bothering NewJeans... The kids just want to work on their new songㅠㅠ!
  • "Aren't you looking straight at me?" > And then suddenly crying. This is so typical....ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ How ridiculous must it have been for them
  • F**k, I'm so f*cking pissed ㅠㅠㅜㅜ What kind of f*cking company is this? ADOR's only asset is NewJeans, but the one leading the way in harassing NewJeans is the ADOR CEO?..
  • Destroying evidence? Wow, they're going this far? What the f*ck, Evil HYBE
  • In this HYBE vs. Min Heejin incident, it doesn't make sense that only the children are being abused right now. Like Min Heejin said, they are cowardly people who can't even admit their wrongs. How can they call themselves adults and bully these children???
  • An evil company where things beyond imagination happen every day
  • The only part that disappeared was the part where Hanni was ignored. F**kㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ This makes no sense this is seriously so cruel
  • I now understand very well why HYBE has no money.
  • Why is Belift Lab looking through the CCTV? Seriously why?? ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ Is their security department Belift Lab??
  • Min protested and the members and parents asked to see the CCTV, but at that time, the person in charge of personnel = the current ADOR CEO and said there was no evidence, right? And now they're trying to blame Min for this? I hope CEO Kim Joo-young gets grilled at the national audit.
  • The agency isn't protecting its own artists at all. I can't even trust them. I feel so sorry for the NewJeans members. HYBE's actions are just so pathetic.
  • It feels like we’re witnessing how far a group can go to torment kids. Isn’t this child abuse?
  • They said the deleted content was from someone who resigned, so they couldn't figure out the reason. That’s such a lame excuse, they're f*king insane
  • Isn't it just a simple matter of calling the Belift Lab manager to investigate whether those words were said or not? If the manager denies it, they could confront Hanni and bring in witnesses since the other group members were there too. Then they could check the CCTV, etc. NewJeans are making legitimate requests, but the fact that they're not following standard investigation procedures is what's causing all this trouble.
  • Seriously, it's obvious to everyone that NewJeans is being bullied.
  • What kind of CEO cries in front of the kids? It's ridiculous. Why are you crying? Just show the video proudly. Why are you crying because you're upset? Just like the members said, why is she trying to make them the bad person?
  • This seriously feels like a miniature version of South Korea ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ Is ADOR really NewJeans' agency? Or are they just HYBE's spokesperson? ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
  • It feels like I'm watching a crime drama. It's showing in real time how the law is being manipulated and how they use it to torment others.

[theqoo - hot]  ADOR CEO Kim Joo-young suspected of <<<<gaslighting>>>> minor members of NewJeans

date: 07/10/2024

Gaslighting isn't just about yelling, being violent, or controlling.

Making the victim feel guilty is also a typical case of gaslighting.

To NewJeans, who currently have members who are minors, and even classified as <<<children>>> by age,

There is a controversy over whether this is gaslighting.

  • That CEO is crying ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
  • I've been working for over 10 years and I've never seen my boss cry...
  • It's right that she is gaslighting them
  • They're not doing their job, they're messing things up, and they're crying—what a complete mess. Meanwhile, they’re oppressing those young kids.
  • HYBE said themselves that MHJ was emotional, but they put an even more emotional person in her seat. They're being hypocritical.
  • Why is the CEO who just came in suddenly crying and talking emotionally? I don't understand... Is it to that extent?
  • Just thinking about that ahjumma trying to gain sympathy in front of the kids is so unpleasant and gross.
  • That's right this is gaslighting f*ck. They are the perpetrator yet they talk as if it's the victim's fault, they create a scene as if NewJeans are the ones who did something wrong by crying to them. The fact that they tried to do this with the NewJeans kids is really frustrating.
  • How embarrassing and scary would it be if an adult suddenly started acting like that in front of kids?
  • In a place like that, you can either underestimate your opponent or resort to the strategy of begging with tears... This is really bad.
  • I wonder what kind of talent she had to become an executive
  • Are you kidding me, is that where a person should be crying?
  • This is so absurd, why is she trying to gain sympathy from the members?
  • Who is she to cry and make a fuss in front of the members right now?
  • CEO Kim Joo-young, how bad must this job be for you to cry in front of kids half your age? You don't seem like the type of person who is suited for this kind of work, so just stay home and rest for the rest of your life. If you cry over something as minor as this, you're really not suited for taking on this responsibility.
  • This is an extremely bad act she's doing trying to instill guilt in the victims. I thought that this person wasted her career by getting involved with HYBE for no reason, but now that I look at it, I think she's not a truly capable career woman.
  • If you're going to cry, work as hard as Min Heejin and cry~~
  • Why is she crying when she erased the CCTV and destroyed the evidence? Do you think there are people who would believe the story that an employee did something on his own and then quit and ran away?
  • She's crying in front of children when she's already old? And she has only known them for a short time? This is disgusting.
  • Are you in your right mind to cry in front of the victims and make them feel like the bad people?
  • Why is a grown adult crying when even the girls aren't? Seriously, who are the ones who needs to cry in this situation? ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ this is ridiculous. Stop crying and just focus on your work.
  • Why is she crying? The ones who really should be crying are the members.
