It wasn't even viral because of overseas K-pop fans.
A famous American streamer (ranked 15th in the world and ranked 10th in the US) liked NewJeans so much that he played a NewJeans song on his broadcast and it went viral, so other famous streamers started using it as background music on their broadcasts, and it became a trend. He's going to make a fortune.

This clip is a celebration for Jason, the main streamer. He's of Vietnamese decent, same as Hanni, and successfully exceeds 100k subs which made him break the record for most followed Asian streamer in history. Playing ETA as a celebration song feels really sweet with that in mind.
