[theqoo - hot]  [Breaking News] Min Hee-jin maintains 'NewJeans Mum'... Temporary injunction against HYBE 'cited'

date: 30/05/2024

Min Hee-jin, CEO of ADOR, continues her status as ‘NewJeans Mum.’

The Seoul Central District Court's Civil Agreement Division 50 decided to cite on the 30th in relation to the application for a provisional injunction to prohibit the exercise of voting rights filed by CEO Min Hee-jin against HYBE.

As a result, HYBE is expected to not be able to exercise its voting rights on the dismissal of CEO Min Hee-jin at the ADOR extraordinary general meeting to be held on the 31st. Min Hee-jin will be able to retain her position as CEO of ADOR.

HYBE, which owns 80% of ADOR's shares, submitted the dismissal of CEO Min Hee-jin as an agenda item at the extraordinary shareholders' meeting. HYBE has already nominated ADOR's new CEO and board of directors. Representative Min Hee-jin objected to this and filed a provisional injunction with the Seoul Central District Court to prevent the company from exercising its voting rights at the extraordinary general meeting.

The court held a hearing on the 17th and examined whether the 'shareholder contract' could restrict the exercise of voting rights under the Commercial Act.

With the injunction requested by Min Hee-jin being accepted, the "uncomfortable coexistence" between Min Hee-jin and Hive is expected to continue.

However, as HYBE is expected to replace executives of ADOR excluding Min Hee-jin, she is also expected to face significant constraints on her activities.

NewJeans is preparing for 'big events' such as their Japanese debut and Tokyo Dome fan meeting next month. Since CEO Min Hee-jin is called 'NewJeans Mum' and the group was created under her lead, fans are interested in whether NewJeans will be able to maintain their identity and continue to lead NewJeans' activities under her plans.

[Breaking News] Court cites Min Hee-jin’s request for injunction... Retains position as CEO of ADOR

The court upheld a lawsuit filed by ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin against HYBE for a temporary injunction banning the exercise of voting rights. HYBE was unable to vote on the dismissal of CEO Min at the extraordinary general meeting of shareholders. CEO Min is expected to remain as CEO of ADOR.

On the 30th, Civil Settlement Division 50 of the Seoul Central District Court (Presiding Judge Sang-Hoon Kim) filed a provisional injunction lawsuit against HYBE filed by ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin against HYBE, saying, “Based on the claims and materials submitted to date, there is no reason for Hive’s (CEO Min) dismissal. “I believe the reason for his resignation was not sufficiently explained,” he said.

According to the court's decision, HYBE cannot exercise its voting rights on the dismissal of CEO Min at the ADOR extraordinary general meeting of shareholders scheduled for the 31st. ADOR's shares are 80% owned by HYBE, 18% by Min Hee-jin, and 2% by employees, and it is highly likely that CEO Min will remain as ADOR's CEO.

  • Wow, this is a law that originally favours large companies, but if the ruling is like this, HYBE must have really messed up
  • I'm not a person that was really interested in this but it's nice that they gave HYBE nuclear cider
  • Wow, I'm really glad. Justice is alive!
  • HYBE has crashed. Congratulations to ADOR, Min Hee-jin and NewJeans!!!!! I participated in the Bunnies petition and I feel relieved ㅋㅋㅋㅋ
  • In the end, the truth won ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
  • I wish HYBE would be punished for media playing like crazy, but there's no way. They spent several days illegally distributing personal information and spreading arrogant rumors, clearly showing that the company's management and morals are in shambles
  • Congrats congrats, it's good news in these times ㅠㅠㅠ I'm glad the truth won
  • Seriously, HYBE are such f*cking crazy bastards. When they first exploded the issue, I thought there was no way they could have exploded it without proof (because their market cap went up so much), but these bastards were a group of petty, disgusting, evil men beyond your imagination...
  • It's funny of what we learnt through the court information about this incident. BigHit album hoarding has been certified through court officials. HYBE's group of f*king bastards' media play games have also been certified through court officials.
  • No matter how hard they tried to shake off her by involving her personal life and media manipulation, the results show exactly what is true and what is fake
  • All that's left in HYBE is ugliness ㅋㅋㅋㅋ
  • NewJeans fans will sleep with their feet stretched out today
  • Kim & Chang lost again ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ Just get your feet out of HYBE matters ㅠ
  • Congratulations. I don't know much about the legal and management aspects, but I want to see Min Hee-jin do the first full-length album for NewJeans. I hope HYBE will also stop interfering with this... I am extremely disappointed in the company regarding this matter
  • Oh did Kim & Chang lose to Sejong again?
  • Wow, there were a lot of people who said it couldn't be done, but they did it. Honestly, regardless of whether you like Min Hee-jin or not, I think she's a really incredible person
  • Wow.. Min Hee-jin is becoming more and more amazing, and HYBE is becoming more and more like an asshole ㅋㅋㅋㅋ
  • Shows just how insignificant their evidence must have been ㅋㅋㅋㅋ Now, let's clearly see the enormous evidence from Min Hee-jin about their breach of trust. I want to see HYBE's sin documents. What did it say? Show me the sins of HYBE, not just the KakaoTalk!!! I'm so f*cking curious

  • Corrupt companies that harm the cultural and artistic culture should be punished
  • I knew Kongjwi would win! ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
  • I've heard HYBE has been going to Arab countries to borrow money these days
  • If they fire her, it'll cost them 220 billion won. With that she can go out and start a company. It's not my business but I feel so good
  • Ha f*ck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I feel so f*cking crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Did they win? Wow awesome!!!! Even though I'm not a fan I'm so thrilled
  • Daebak!!!!! I thought she would be dismissed, but it was cited ㅠㅠ I hope Min Hee-jin and NewJeans does even better!!!
  • This is why HYBE worked so hard on media manipulation, because legally she couldn't be fired...
  • As they often do in the gaming industry, they made an unofficial comment without any evidence to get her to resign, but when Min Hee-jin counterattacked, they overreacted and then collapsed ㅋㅋㅋㅋ Those NPC's are seriously so stupid
  • This is awesome ㅋㅋㅋㅋ No matter how much you push with money, you can't win if it's too dirty ㅋㅋㅋㅋ
  • HYBE is making a profit of 2.9 billion won, so what's the use~~ They're still short on money no matter what, might as well save on their legal expenses ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
  • In the end, there wasn't a single charge of breach of trust that HYBE had accused her of. I guess HYBE committed to this game thinking that they would naturally win if they made good use of their 100 reporters. Now, please get out of K-pop and go back to being a game company
  • Wow, they really tried to bury someone without any evidence
  • HYBE said something about Min Heejin being emotional, but is the court also emotional? ㅋㅋㅋㅋ
  • Today I'm going to have chicken and beer!!
